| abstract |
A pyrotechnic charge (22, 24) which can be initiated by a laser beam (38) is placed in a solid body (18). The beam is carried by an optical fiber (12) which enters a connector (48) mounted on the body (18). The beam which is divergent at its exit from the fiber (12) is made parallel by a first lens (50). A second lens (54), mounted on the body (18), converges the beam and cooperates with a transparent barrier (40) to focus the beam at a given point. Sealing means are provided between the transparent barrier (40) and the body (18) of the device thus ensuring the containment of the charge (22, 24). Application to pyrotechnic devices powered by a laser source. |
