A very thin, non-load-bearing natural stone slab (1) is provided with profile grooves (2) into which corresponding profile projections (8) of a carrier plate (3) engage in a form-fitting manner. The carrier plate (3) is glued to the natural stone plate (1) at least in the profile grooves (2). To produce such a cladding element, a raw plate (10) made of natural stone is glued together on two sides with a carrier plate (3) and then divided into a plane (12) parallel to the carrier plates (3). In this way, cladding elements, for example for facades, can be produced with a very low weight per unit area. |
