They are new aromatic aldehydes of the general formula wherein R₁ and R₂ each represent hydrogen, halogen, nitro or methoxy and R₃ represents either a cyano group or the grouping -CO.NR₄R₅, where R₄ and R₅ have the meanings given in the description, and a process for their preparation is disclosed.n n n The new aldehydes are suitable as intermediates for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients or agrochemicals. |
