abstract The slot nozzle device is used for melt spinning metallic melts. It consists of a cylindrical, heatable melt container (1) and an attached nozzle (2) with a nozzle surface (3), in which at least one rectangular one of two opposite lips (4, 5) and two opposite webs (13, 14) formed slot (8) is provided. The nozzle (2) has lip-side outer side walls (11, 12) which each form an angle of 40 ° to 60 ° with the plane of the nozzle surface (3). The two lips (4, 5), which lie in one and the same plane formed by the nozzle surface (3), have the same width and mutually parallel side wall and slot side edges (9, 10). The ratio of the width (6) of the slot (8) to the width (7) of each lip (4, 5) is 1:20 to 1: 5. Such a slot nozzle device can be used to produce amorphous metal strips with precisely predeterminable dimensions, which can be detached very easily from their cooling surface.
