Neutron generator with a target (16) struck by a beam of isotope ions of hydrogen and constituted by a structure comprising a thin active absorbent layer (19) formed on a support layer (18). According to the invention, a stack of active layers (21, 23, 25, 27) identical to the layer (19) is superimposed on the two preceding layers, separated from one another by the diffusion barriers (20, 22, 24 , 26 respectively). The thickness of each of said active layers is of the order of the depth of penetration of the deuterium ions coming to strike the target.n n n Application: high flux neutron generators. |
