Disclosed is a coating apparatus which comprises the first slot (5) arranged between the front (1) and center (2) edges and the second slot (7) arranged between the center (2) and back (3) edges, wherein a coating solution is extruded continuously from each of the slots so as to be coated on the surface of a flexible support (B) running continuously along the edge surfaces of the front, center and back edges in order. n The front edge surface has a straight-line portion (L) provided to at least the terminal end portion of the front edge so that said straight-line portion may be along the direction of running said support and not longer than one mm in length, and at least one portion of said center and back edge surfaces is extruded from the extension line of said straight-line on the support side. n The coating apparatus is suitable for preparing a magnetic recording medium. |
