titleOfInvention Fluid catalytic cracking process and apparatus for more effective regeneration of zeolite catalyst
abstract Multi-step process and apparatus (Figs. 1, 2 and 3) for regenerating a fluid catalytic cracking catalyst. The steps are preferably carried out at gradually increasing temperatures, and the flue gas is removed after each step. The process in question makes it possible to regenerate a single-phase catalyst or, preferably, a double-phase catalyst system (2), in which an intermediate porous zeolite catalyst is present in a weaker elutriation catalyst particle, and a higher porosity zeolite catalyst is present in a larger elutriation catalyst particle, so as to separate the porous zeolite intermediate catalysts from the higher porosity zeolite catalysts before the final regeneration step.
