A reduced-calorie non-cariogenic edible composition which comprises (a) a bulking agent comprising Polydextrose, (b) an encapsulated flavoring agent, and (c) an effective amount of an intense sweetening agent. The present invention also pertains to methods for preparing the novel flavored bulking agent compositions and the edible and confectionery products in which the novel compositions may be employed. |
