The invention relates to a process for the preparation of alkyltetrahydroanthrahydroquinones in a solvent system suitable for the preparation of hydrogen peroxide. This gives solutions of alkyltetrahydroanthrahydroquinones which can be used directly as working solution for the preparation of H2O2 by the anthraquinone process. Or, if desired, the alkyltetrahydroanthrahydroquinones or, after their oxidation using an oxygen-containing gas, the corresponding alkyltetrahydroanthraquinones can also be isolated therefrom. |
