abstract | Polar and non-polar superparamagnetic liquids, which contain surfactant-coated superparamagnetic solid particles dispersed colloidally in polar or nonpolar liquid media, are produced with the help of new processes for the production of polar and nonpolar superparamagnetic liquids. The new process for producing non-polar superparamagnetic liquids from superparamagnetic solid particles is based on the precipitation of the particles from aqueous metal salt solutions which correspond to the chemical composition of the particles by means of a base, coating the particles with an anionic surfactant and converting the particles into a nonpolar liquid, wherein a) the coated particles in the aqueous medium are flocculated with methanol, separated and redispersed in a non-polar liquid and / or b) the coated particles which have already been dispersed in any manner in a non-polar liquid medium are flocculated with methanol, separated and in a non-polar Liquid redispersed.
