| abstract | A solar energy collector (10) comprising a solar energy absorber (12), a light transmitting top plate (16) spaced apart from and in a plane parallel to the solar energy absorber (12), and an array of light transmitting cells (18) intermediate to and in a plane perpendicular to the top plate (16) and solar energy absorber (12). The collector may also include a light transmitting bottom plate (17) intermediate the solar energy absorber (12) and the array of cells (18). The bottom surface of the top plate (16) or bottom plate (17), preferably the latter, is coated with a low emissivity coating. All surfaces of the top and bottom plates (16, 17) may also be coated with an antireflective material. |
