The invention relates to 3-aryluracils of the general formula wherein R₁ is hydrogen, C₁-C₄-alkyl, C₃-C₄-alkenyl, C₃-C₄-alkynyl, C₂-C₆-alkoxyalkyl or C₁-C₄-haloalkyl, R₂ is hydrogen, C₁-C₆-alkyl, C₂-C₆-alkoxyalkyl, optionally substituted with 1 to 3 C₁-C₃alkyl groups, C₄-C₇-cycloalkenyl-C₁-C₄-alkyl, C₃-C₄-alkenyl, optionally with 1 to 3 C₁-C₃ -Alkyl groups ring-substituted C₄-C₇-cycloalkenyl-C₃-C₅-alkenyl, aryl-C₃-C₅-alkenyl, C₃-C₄-alkynyl, optionally ring-substituted with 1 to 3 C₁-C₃-alkyl groups Citu-C₇-cycloalkenyl-C₃-C₅- alkynyl or aryl-C₃-C₅-alkynyl, R₃ is hydrogen or halogen, R₄ is hydrogen, halogen or C₁-C₄ alkyl and R₅ C₁-C₄ alkyl or C₁-C₄ haloalkyl, or R₄ and R₅ together represent tri- or tetramethylene, with the proviso that if R₅ is C₁-C₄-haloalkyl, R₁ is different from C₁-C₄-haloalkyl and R₂ is different from hydrogen, and the corresponding enol ethers of those compounds of formula 1 , in which R₁ is different from hydrogen or C₁-C₄-haloalkyl, and salts of those compounds of formula I in which R₁ and / or R₂ is hydrogen. The compounds according to the invention, ie the compounds of the formula I and their enol ethers and salts, are herbicidally active and are suitable as active compounds of weed control agents. The invention thus also comprises weed control compositions which contain compounds according to the invention as active ingredients, processes for the preparation of these compounds and the use of the compounds or compositions for controlling weeds. |
