abstract | A new structure is described for the microwave cooking of consumer foodstuffs. The structure includes a layer (22) of a flexible electrically conductive material which is normally opaque to microwave radiation and which is traversed by a plurality of elongated apertures (24) sized to allow microwaves to penetrate to inside the food and to produce heat energy on the surface of the food.
