The invention relates to nanocrystalline magnetic particles consisting of a magnetic iron oxide core from Fe₃0₄, γ-Fe₂0₃ or mixtures thereof and a shell chemisorbed onto this core, process for the preparation of these particles and their use in medical diagnosis and therapy. The magnetic particles according to the invention are characterized in that the shell material is composed of natural or synthetic glycosaminoglycans and their derivatives with molecular weights of 500 Da to 250,000 Da, optionally covalently crosslinked by suitable crosslinking agents and / or modified by specific additives. |
