titleOfInvention | AUTONOMOUS CONTROL MODULE. |
abstract | Self-contained control module for closed wound drainage systems. The control module converts a fluctuating high vacuum source to a constant moderate vacuum source. The control module also includes a non-return valve preventing the air extracted from the patient's pleural cavity from returning to the latter's body. The control module works on a hydraulic principle. It includes a first suction regulation chamber (54), which transforms the fluctuating intense vacuum into a moderate but constant vacuum. This first chamber (54) contains a first column of fluid (56) at a predetermined level. The module also includes a second sealed water chamber (80), which contains a second column of fluid, the level of which is also predetermined. The height of this second column of fluid is less than that of the first column. Each of the chambers (54, 80) has a tube (58, 84) one end of which opens below the column of fluid. The fluid column (56) of the first chamber (54) tends to regulate the vacuum within the chambers (54, 80) while the fluid column of the second chamber (80) acts as a check valve. , preventing air from returning to the patient's body. |
