abstract |
A simple and highly efficient method of cloning complementary DNAs from mammalian expression libraries based on transient expression in mammalian host cells has been discovered. The invention also relates to new expression vectors allowing the highly efficient development of mammalian complementary DNA libraries. The method of cloning of the invention having been used to clone genes intended for surface antigens of human lymphocyte cells, has a general application in the cloning of genes. Surface antigens from cloned cells according to the invention were purified, and nucleotide and amino acid sequences were determined. These antigens have diagnostic and therapeutic utility in infections of immune origin in mammals, including humans. |
