The present invention relates to beverages and in particular to sports drinks which are not sweetened by added sugar or artificial sweetener. Sports drinks in general are defined by comprising sodium, potassium, and further magnesium and/or calcium minerals to allow quick replenishing of these minerals after physical exercise. The replenishing is most conveniently and pleasantly done via a drink, thereby allowing to satisfy the need for thirst quenching. It has now has been found that the mineral replenishing via a sports drink can be provided in a better way by eliminating artificial sweeteners or added sugar in the sports drink which is typically used in commercially available sports drinks and hereto forth had not been described in the prior art. |
