abstract The layer of material is roughly distributed on a conveyor belt by an oscillating feed device and smoothed out by a combing device which acts on the whole surface of the material in the direction in which it is being conveyed. From this conveyor belt, the material is dropped on to a second belt where the weight distribution is measured and processed for use in controlling the oscillating feed device.
