A new process for producing a supported catalyst comprising palladium, platinum, nickel, cobalt or copper on an airgel as a support is described. This is based on a preparation which contains an alkoxide precursor of the airgel and a soluble complex of e.g. B. contains palladium with a chelating agent, the chelating agent having Si (OR) ₃ anchor groups. The preparation is then mixed with water for hydrolysis and transferred under supercritical conditions into the transition metal airgel supported catalyst. The supported catalyst is characterized by a particularly homogeneous distribution of the metal component. It is suitable, for example, for use as a hydrogenation catalyst. |
