This invention relates to proteases with improved application properties in cleaners and detergents. The improvements are achieved by substituting positively charged or uncharged amion acids in the substrate binding region of the wild type subtilisin protease. nIn particular, the invention relates to a mutant subtilisin protease, characterized by at least one amino acid alteration which results in a reduced positive charge or an increased negative charge in the region of the substrate binding pocket, wherein said amino acid alteration is S154D or S154E in combination with an aminoacid alteration at position 99 or position 211. |
