titleOfInvention Safety device for a motor vehicle occupant
abstract The invention relates to a safety device for a motor vehicle occupant with a safety belt system (1) allocated to a seat (5) having a shoulder-harness guide device (8) secured to the vehicle coachwork. The safety device also comprises a collision sensor device (2) and a head guard which can be moved into an operating position from an initial position when signals are provided by the collision sensor device (2). According to the invention, the occupant's head is particularly effectively protected in the event of a side-collision because there is an adjuster secured to the vehicle's coachwork and/or the seat (5) by means of which the run of the shoulder harness in the region of the guide device (8) can be altered in accordance with the accident situation.
