When a superabsorbent material is to be incorporated into an nabsorbent composite in a relatively high concentration, it is nnecessary to carefully choose the superabsorbent material. nProperties of the superabsorbent to be considered are total nAbsorbent Capacity, resistance to Deformation Under Load, the nability of the superabsorbent material to absorb while under na restraining force, and the ability of the superabsorbent nmaterial to wick fluids away from the insult area. By nquantifying these characteristics of a superabsorbent nmaterial, one is able to predict which superabsorbent nmaterials are suited for use in absorbent composites ncomprising a relatively high concentration of superabsorbent nmaterial. |
