Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) DNA sequences from the ribosomal RNA gene region arendescribed for different species and strains of Helminthosporium carbonum,nHelminthosporium turcicum, Helminthosporium maydis, Cercospora zeae-maydis, Kabatiella nzeae and Puccinia sorghi. Specific primers from within these sequences are identified asnbeing useful for the identification of the fungal isolates using PCR-based techniques. |
