A plate making film has a layer provided on a transparentnsubstrate, the layer consisting essentially of a polymeric compoundncomposed of a repeating unit represented by the following generalnformula (1):n n where A isn nx, y and z each denote an integer of 1 or more, X is a residue of annorganic compound having 2 active hydrogen groups, Y is anhydrocarbon group having 1 or more carbon atoms, and R 1 is andicarboxylic acid compound residue, or a diisocyanate compoundnresidue. On the plate making film, an image is formed, preferably, nby ink jets using, preferably, a plate making ink containing a mono- orndisazo dye which is a yellow dye highly ultraviolet absorbingnproperties for a wavelength of 350 to 450 nm. An inexpensive, highnresolution, high grade photomask for plate making is produced thereby. |
