abstract |
Aqueous fiber material treatment composition comprises a sulfonate or an aliphatic 2-12 (4-10) C polyol, an ethoxylated alcohol(s) and an alkoxylate(s) to give good hydrophilicity. The composition comprises: (1) a sulfonate of formula R<1>R<1>R<2>CR<1>R<2)<CR<1>R<2>)nR<1> (I) with a SO3M group(s) or an aliphatic 2-12 (4-10) C polyol; (2) an ethoxylated alcohol(s) of formula R<3>O(CH2CH2O)rX (II); (3) an alkoxylate(s) of formula R<3>O(Z)tX (III); and (4) water. R<1> = H, 1-4C alkyl phenyl optionally substituted by SO3M; R<2> = R<1> or SO3M; M = Na, K or NH4; n = 0-8; X = 0-50% H and 50-100% (m)ethyl or phenyl; Z = 20-80% CH2CH2O and 80-20% CHR<4>CHR<5>O R<3> = 4-20 (8-18) C alkyl; R<4> and R<5> = one is H and the other is CH3. |
