titleOfInvention Process and apparatus for electric discharge machining
abstract The electroerosion machining method and device are arranged so as to produce the following succession of phases during each erosive discharge: a waiting phase (t D ) during which an alternating voltage is applied between the tool and the workpiece at a frequency such that the ions present in the machining fluid perform oscillating paths shorter than the machining distance separating the tool from the part, a sparking phase (t A ) comprising a delay period (t R ) and an erosive discharge phase (t C ) and a pause phase (t B ) during which no voltage is applied so that the ionized channel in the machining fluid disappears. The complete elimination of all phenomena of electrolysis and deterioration of the tool and the part is thus obtained and a high efficiency of priming and machining.
