titleOfInvention | Sealing arrangement between flow regulator and shut-off valve attached to oxygen cylinder |
abstract | The present invention provides a sealing arrangementnbetween a flow regulator (110) and a shut-off valve (102) attached tonan oxygen cylinder (100). The shut-off valve includes a casing (104)nwhich is adapted to be mounted to an oxygen cylinderncontaining oxygen gas or an oxygen enhanced gas, a sidenwall (106) defining a part of the casing. A female outlet portnis defined in the side wall of the casing. The flownregulator includes a metallic cylindrical body (112) which hasnfirst (112a) and second (112b) end faces. A yoke (116) extends from thenfirst end face of the cylindrical body. A screw bolt (120),nwhich has an end (120a) facing the first end face of thencylindrical body, operates with the yoke to clamp thencasing of the shut-off valve between the first end facenof the cylindrical body and the end of the screw bolt. Anmale inlet port (114) extends from the first end face of thencylindrical body into the female outlet port of the shut-offnvalve to receive the oxygen gas or the oxygennenhanced gas. An o-ring (122) is provided around the inletnport of the flow regulator so that the o-ring is clampednbetween the first end face of the cylindrical body of thenflow regulator and the casing of the shut-off valve whennthe flow regulator is secured to the shut-off valve. Thensealing member is made of an electrically conductivenrubber material. |
