abstract |
An optical recording medium which is excellent in high-temperaturenhigh-humidity resistance characteristics while usingna silver reflecting film capable of producing a cost reductionneffect and higher reflecting characteristics as compared with angold reflecting film, as well as a method for producing the same,nare provided. n An optical recording medium which comprises at least anrecording layer comprising an organic dye, a reflecting layerncomposed of a metal, and a protective layer laminated in this ordernon a light-transmittable substrate, wherein the reflecting layernis a thin film comprising silver as a major component andnsatisfying a relationship of I(200)/I(111) > 0.40 when an X-rayndiffraction intensity by a (111) plane is designated as I(111)nand an X-ray diffraction intensity by a (200) plane is designatednas I(200) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum measured by a -2nmethod while an angle of incidence with reference to a surfacenof the light-transmittable substrate is set at . The thin filmncomprising silver as a major component is provided by controllingna sputtering gas pressure (for example, from 0.23 to 1.00 Pa) inna sputtering chamber in forming the reflecting layer. |
