In the reaction of catalytic gas phase oxidation inducednby the supply of at least a raw material to be oxidized andna molecular oxygen-containing gas to a reactor for catalyticngas phase oxidation, a method for starting up the reactornfor catalytic gas phase oxidation is disclosed which isncharacterized by causing the raw material and the molecularnoxygen-containing gas to pass a range in which thenconcentration of the raw material is less than the lowernexplosion limit of the raw material and the concentrationnof oxygen is not less than the limiting oxygen concentration,nbut excluding the concentration of the raw material of 0 vol.%.nThe method enables the reactor to be started up economicallynand safely by avoiding the explosion range induced by thencomposition of a raw material and a molecularnoxygen-containing gas supplied to the reactor and decreasingnthe amount of a diluting gas to be supplied. |
