abstract The invention relates to a method for laser welding a workpiece (1) along a welding line (20), in which a laser beam (13) is guided along the welding line (20) by moving an optical deflection unit (17). As a result, high movement speeds can be achieved with little outlay in terms of apparatus. This method is particularly suitable for welding locking pins and openings (7) of gas turbine blades (1) caused by casting.
