titleOfInvention THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER HOSE
abstract A hose which is made of a thermoplastic elastomer having a softening temperature of 160°C or higher, an elongation at break of 200% or higher, an initial flexural modulus of 20 to 700 MPa, and a volume change through immersion in an aqueous ethylene glycol solution of -2 to +10%. The thermoplastic elastomer is preferably one comprising: 15 to 95 parts by weight of an olefin resin (A) comprising 50 to 97 wt.% 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer (A1) and 3 to 50 wt.% olefin resin (A2) other than (A1); and 5 to 85 parts by weight of a crosslinked rubber (B) (the sum of the ingredients (A) and (B) is 100 parts by weight). The hose can be easily molded and recycled, is excellent in heat resistance, water resistance, and mechanical properties, has a small specific gravity, and is suitable for use as an automotive hose for aqueous fluids.
