abstract A honeycomb structural body, and a honeycomb filter and a converter system using the honeycomb structural body, the honeycomb structural body comprising a plurality of axially passing flow holes (3) formed with a plurality of partition walls (1, 2), wherein the plurality of partition walls (1, 2) are formed of a plurality of partition walls with different thicknesses, and the partition walls (2) thicker than the averaged thickness of the plurality of the partition walls with different thicknesses are disposed in a specified partial area of an entire area where the partitions are disposed at a rate higher in quantity than the rate in the other areas, the honeycomb filter and the converter system using the honeycomb structure comprising a sufficient mechanical strength against an external pressure while meeting the requirements in recent years such as an increase in warming-up characteristics in purification performance and a reduction in harmful substances discharged immediately after the start of an engine and also a large erosion and thermal shock resistances.
