abstract | An electrophotographic light-receiving memberncomprising a conductive support and provided thereon anphotoconductive layer formed of a non-single-crystalnmaterial mainly composed of silicon atom and containingnhydrogen atom and an element belonging to Group IIIb ofnthe periodic table; wherein the photoconductive layernhas hydrogen atom content, an optical band gap and ancharacteristic energy obtained from the exponentialntail of light absorption spectra, all in specificnranges, and has on the surface side thereof a secondnlayer region that absorbs a prescribed amount of lightnincident on the photoconductive layer and on thensupport side thereof the other first layer region; thenelement belonging to Group IIIb of the periodic tablenbeing contained in the second layer region in an amountnmade smaller than that in the first layer region. Thisncan provide an electrophotographic light-receivingnmember that has achieved all the improvement innchargeability, the improvement in temperaturencharacteristics thereof and the decrease innphotomemory, and has been dramatically improved innimage quality, and can provide an electrophotographicnlight-receiving member improved in temperaturencharacteristics of sensitivity and linearity ofnsensitivity especially in the case where semiconductornlasers or LEDs are used. |
