abstract A device (D), dedicated to the determination of data flow switching path (s) in a label switching network, comprises a table (Tn1) of correspondence between sets of service data and data of a data network. information representing at least two criteria, a descriptive structure (Tn2) containing usage information data and network topology, and a processing module (Pn) arranged for i) upon receipt of a request path set containing a service data set associated with a flow to be switched, determining in the table (Tn1) the criteria associated with this set of service data, ii) ensuring the connectivity of the nodes of the network to from the information data stored in the descriptive structure (Tn2), iii) among these nodes, calculate possible paths between starting nodes (LER1) and destination nodes (LER2), taking into account the criteria, and then deducting a ideally from the performance of the possible paths on the criteria, iv) assign to each possible path a value of interest taking into account the ideal solution, then classify these possible paths taking into account their respective values of interest, and v) select one of the possible paths classified, then associate the stream to switch a label representative of the selected path so that the tagged stream is switched to the destination node.
