A period indicator including a liquid-permeablensubstrate and an indicative section which is overlaid on anportion of the substrate and which is formed from a liquid-permeablenmaterial having a low light refractive index, thenindicator containing a volatile liquid, wherein thenindicative section is formed by coating a surface of thensubstrate with an indicative-section-forming materialnprepared by mixing a binder and finely divided particulatenmatter having a low light refractive index, the indicativensection is composed of two or more regions, and the regionsndiffer in height from one another as measured from thensurface of the substrate, as the coating amounts per unitnarea of the indicative section forming material in respectivenregions differ from one another. Since the period indicatorncan indicate the chemical-containing state stepwise, it isnuseful for indicating the available period of use of anchemical such as a mothproofing agent, an insecticide, andeodorant, or a fragrance. |
