A polymeric article, such as an extruded or molded article or a biaxiallynoriented tape of film, and a method of stabilizing such a polymeric article tonprotect the article from degradation due to exposure to UV light. The article isnformed by blending a polymeric material with from about 50 to about 5,000nppm of at least one ortho hydroxyl tris-aryl triazine light absorber and fromnabout 500 ppm to about 1.25 percent of at least one oligomeric, polymeric, ornhigh molecular weight HALS having a molecular weight of at least about 500,nwherein the weight ratio of HALS to triazine light absorber is from about 3:1 tonabout 20:1, to form a stabilized polymeric composition, and forming annextruded or molded article or a biaxially oriented tape or film from thenstabilized polymeric composition. |
