titleOfInvention Handheld spraying device with quick disconnect coupling
abstract A handheld spraying device (10) having a quick disconnect assembly (14) fornreleasably securing a spray body having a valve mechanism (35) therein to a water line (16).nThe device includes a nozzle assembly (66) affixed to a water line that includes a pair ofnopposed projecting wing portions (76) that are spring biased into a pair of opposed seats (64)nformed in the spray body (12). An elongated opening (68) transversely aligned with the seats (64)nis provided in the spray body for the passage of the nozzle assembly therethroughnupon the wing portions (76) thereof being aligned with the opening (68). Upon urging thennozzle assembly (66) inwardly within the spray body (12) against an interior spring (88) so as tonraise the wing portions (76) off the seats and rotating the line (16) and affixed nozzlenassembly (66) approximately 90° with respect to the spray body (12), the line and nozzlenassembly can be withdrawn, disconnecting the spray body (12) from the line (16).
