Ultrasonic transducer for electronic devices |
abstract |
An ultrasound transducer for an electronic device, including a housing (101) and an ultrasonic transducer element (110) integrated with the housing (101). The transducer element (110) is capable of operating in at least one of a receiver mode and transmitter mode. In the receiver mode, the transducer element (110) produces an electrical signal in response to an impinging acoustic signal. In the transmitter mode, the transducer element (110) produces an acoustic signal in response to an electrical signal applied thereto. The housing (101) has at least one surface which ensures mechanical stressing of the transducer element (110) in a manner which causes the transducer element to produce the signals. |
