Liquid crystalline compositions are disclosedncomprising (A) an oxetane compound having an optically activenportion, (B) a side chain liquid crystallinenpolymeric substance having an oxetanyl group, and (C)na photo cation generator and/or a thermal cationngenerator. The use of the composition can providena cholesteric-aligned liquid crystal film withnexcellent alignment retention properties after beingnfixed in the liquid crystal state and mechanicalnstrength, without employing any complicated step suchnas photo irradiation under an inert gas atmosphere. |
