abstract | A pigment ink composition comprising a pigment, a resin having an acid group and an organic solvent of 150ºC or higher boiling solvent, wherein the organic solvent occupies 50 to 95 wt.% of the whole ink composition. This pigment ink composition is free from friction marks on coating film in a coating film sliding test in which a cation-treated recording medium is coated by means of bar coater #04 (manufactured by Toyo Seiki Seisaku-sho, Ltd.) and dried and the resultant coating film is subjected to sliding with a cloth having a weight of 50 g placed thereon. In this pigment ink composition, the diameter of dispersed pigment particles is small. The pigment ink composition realizes excellent water resistance, enables printing on plain paper without cockling and exhibits such a high anti-friction performance that problems of friction marks on prints would not occur in the printing of cation-treated recording medium. |
