Material and method for three-dimensional modeling |
abstract |
An additive- process for making a three- dimensional object includes using an apparatus (10) having an extrusion head (12), a material- receiving base (14), a material supply (18) and a liquifier (22) which also has an orifice (24). Modeling material (A) is dispensed to form a model (26). Support material (B) is dispensed to form support structure (28). The modeling material (A) is a thermoplastic material containing a blend of polyphenylenesulfone and polycarbonate. Removal of the support structure (28) from the completed model (26) is facilitated by operating on the materials (A, B) while hot. |
