titleOfInvention POROUS FILM CARRYING AN ADHESIVE FOR CELL SEPARATOR AND ITS APPLICATION
abstract An adhesive-carrying porous film for a cell separator comprising a base porous film and a partially-crosslinked adhesive carried by the base porous film. When the temperature of the base porous film is raised from the room temperature at a rate of 2°C/minute, the thickness of the base porous film decreases from the one of when a prove with a 1 mm diameter is placed on the base porous film under a 70-g load at room temperature to, at 200°C or more, 1/2 of the thickness at the room temperature. The thickness decrease is measured by means of a needle prove thermomechanical analyzer. The adhesive is partially crosslinked by reacting a reactive polymer having a functional group reactive with an isocyanate group with a polyfunctional isocyanate. Such a porous film (separator) is temporarily bonded to an electrode to be used as an electrode/separator laminate. A cell can be manufactured by using this laminate efficiently since no mutual displacement of the electrode and the separator occurs. After the cell is manufactured, the porous film (separator) itself does not fuse nor break even at high temperatures and functions as a separator having a small thermal contraction.
