titleOfInvention | Compact source of a high-brightness X-ray beam |
abstract | An X-ray emission device according to the invention comprises a vacuum pump (1) whose sealed peripheral envelope (1f) contains a cathode (3) for emission of electron fluxes (4), a rotating anode (2), mounted at the shaft end (1e) of the vacuum pump (1), and a collection device (5) collecting an emitted x-ray beam (6). This considerably reduces the size of the X-ray source and, thanks to the very fast and stable rotation of the rotating anode (2) integral with the rotor (1a) of the vacuum pump (1), a source with very high gloss. It is also possible to move the rotating anode (2) axially to compensate for the wear that it undergoes by the impact of the incident beam of electrons (4) coming from the cathode (3).n n n According to the invention, the device further comprises at least one cooling element fixed to the vacuum pump stator or to the sealed peripheral envelope opposite one of the main radial faces of the rotating anode for absorbing thermal energy. of radiation emitted by the rotating anode in operation. |
