abstract | A transparent thermal recording medium having (a) transparent support, (b) thermal recording layer containing a leuco dye and a coloring agent, superimposed on the transparent support and (c) protective layer containing as main components a pigment and an adhesive, superimposed on the thermal recording layer, characterized in that the pigment contained in the protective layer consists of (i) not only at least one main pigment selected from the group consisting of kaolin and aluminum hydroxide but also calcined kaolin, or (ii) at least one main pigment selected from the group consisting of kaolin and aluminum hydroxide, calcined kaolin and a third pigment, and that calcined kaolin is present in a proportion of 0.3 to 5 mass% based on the protective layer. |
