Protoporphyrinogen oxidase having activity of imparting resistance against acifluorfen and gene thereof |
abstract |
Disclosed are: a protoporphyrinogen oxidase having an activity of imparting the resistance against acifluorfen; a gene thereof; and others. A protoporphyrinogen oxidase gene of a blue-green alga can be identified by introducing a protoporphyrinogen oxidase gene of Arabidopsis thaliana into a blue-green alga, disrupting the gene of the blue-green alga with a transposon, selecting a strain having the disruption of the protoporphyrinogen oxidase gene to specify the disrupted protoporphyrinogen oxidase gene, and isolating the disrupted protoporphyrinogen oxidase gene. This procedure is effective as a gene isolation technique when a protein derived from other organism species that is homologous to a known protein (e.g., protoporphyrinogen oxidase derived from a blue-green alga) cannot be found in a gene database of the other organism species. |
