The present invention relates to a product based on dried vaccinium fruits, wherein the product is selected from the group consisting of: (i) dried vaccinium fruits, (ii) dried parts of vaccinium fruits or (iii) extract thereof, for influencing conditions of the intestine, wherein the influence is selected from the group consisting of: (a) prevention or treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, especially chronic colitis (ulcerative colitis), (b) strengthening damaged or undamaged intestinal mucosa, (c) reducing tissue damage in the intestine, (d) restoring a normal cellular composition in the intestine, (e) Restoring or stabilizing the barrier function in the gut, (f) regulating digestion, (g) harmonizing bowel activity and (h) stabilizing bowel activity. |
