The present invention relates to a process for treating exhaust gas pollutants, in particular an internal combustion engine, with an installation comprising an exhaust line (L) with catalytic reduction means (62) and catalytic reduction means. means for injecting (82) a reducing agent into the line for treating pollutants, characterized in that it consists of: - heating an organo-nitrated compound to obtain its decomposition into a mixture of at least one gas phase reducing agent containing ammonia and another gas phase reducing agent and water vapor, compressing and then cooling this mixture to condense the water vapor into a liquid phase of water and obtain a gaseous phase of one of the two reducing agents and a liquid phase of the other reducing agent, injecting one of the reducing agents into the exhaust line in association with said catalytic means (62) for treating the pollutants of these gases. |
