abstract |
Methods are provided for treating an oil reservoir to reduce the amount of sulfide in the production fluid obtained from a production well. The production fluid is treated with nitrate and/or nitrite ions, or another inorganic oxidizing agent, in an aqueous solution that is added to an injection well that is in contact with the production well. |
