abstract The invention relates to an impeller device having a rotatable impeller (12), the impeller (12) comprising a rotor (14) and multiple blades (18) that are evenly distributed over the circumference of the rotor (14) and are pivotably attached to the rotor (14), the blades (18) can be made to pivot, in an opening-pivoting movement in an opening direction, from a first position into a second position, in the first position the blades (18) rest against the rotor (14), in the second position the blades (18) project from the rotor (14) in an essentially radial direction, and the impeller (12) is configured to be arranged in a flow (19) such that the flow (19) exerts on the blades (18), at least in a final portion of the opening-pivoting movement, an opening moment oriented in the opening direction. It is proposed to provide a mechanical connection (30) between adjacent blades (18), the mechanical connection (30) being configured such that the opening moment, in the final portion of the opening-pivoting movement of a first blade (18), is at least partially converted into an opening moment of an adjacent blade (18) in an initial portion of the opening-pivoting movement of the adjacent blade (18).
