titleOfInvention | Developing device |
abstract | The developing device comprises a developing container configured to accommodate a developer; a developing roller configured to carry and feed the developer to a position where an electrostatic image formed onto an image bearing member is developed; and a resin-made developer regulating member which is mounted in the developing container and disposed opposed to the developing container in non-contact with the developing roller, wherein the developer regulating member includes an extended portion extended from an entrance of which the developer regulating member regulates the amount of the developer carried on the developing roller to an upstream side with respect to a rotational direction of the developing roller. When the developer regulating member is seen along a cross-section perpendicular to the rotational axis of the developing roller, a gap between the developer regulating member and the developing roller is G, a first section of the extended portion is formed within a region of 1.5G or less with respect to the positive direction of a X'-axis from an origin and of 1.5G or less with respect to the positive direction of a Y"-axis from the origin, and a rate of a decrease in the gap between the first section of the extended portion and a tangential line gradually decreases over an entire range of the first section of the extended portion. |
